Hello from Arkansas y'all! My name is Mandie, the creator of Farm Diva Ammo Jewelry. How did I come up with the idea? Well let me tell you a little about that......
My Dad and I share the same birthday, so a couple of years back we did it up and went on a 3 week birthday excursion to Alaska. The second week of our trip was mostly fishing trips. Our first day out on the ocean, I was sick as hell. Sleeping, throwing up, and fishing, on repeat.
After a couple hours of this, I got a bite. At first, I wasn't even sure if I had anything, until the deckhand told me, girl, keep reeling, keep reeling! All the sudden, the adrenaline kicked in. Reeling normally, putting my pole up against the boat for leverage. I kept reeling, reeling, reeling, for what seemed like hours (it was only like 25 minutes).
Before I knew it, the crew was getting super excited and giving high fives all around. It's gonna be a big one, one of them yelled! Then all the sudden, the captain motions to the deckhand and he pulls out a little .410.
That was the moment, I knew it was going to be a big one like they had said. Finally, after 234 feet of reeling that monster up, I finally saw it. And after a quick gun shot, the 80 lb. beast was gaffed into the boat. After that, the captain asked me if I wanted to keep the empty casing and I was like hell yeah!
When we got back to Arkansas, I asked my Dad if he could help me make a ring out of the .410 shell from the fish. And the rest is history..........
A little more about me............
I'm just a small town girl who has a love for the outdoors. I love going to shoot or to the range, four wheeling, canoeing, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming, or anything outside.
I also LOVE to eat! One of my biggest passions is cooking and creating new recipes. I have had a huge garden for the past 12 seasons (last year I planted over 100 tomatoes alone). There's just something so refreshing about picking fresh produce from your own backyard.
One of my absolute favorite passions is giving back to the community. For the past several years, I've been planning charity events and giving all the money to families of children with cancer. There's no better feeling than giving to someone who truly needs it at the time.
When my hands aren't in the kitchen, outside in the dirt, or giving back, I enjoy crafting and sewing. Music is also a huge part of my daily life and my all time favorite is the Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash! .
Don't get me wrong though, I can't be the Farm Diva, without having a girly side. I love getting my nails or hair done have a large collection of high heels & frilly girly things. I'm in LOVE with my life & all the simple, wonderful things I am able to do! So, join me on my adventures of playing in the dirt!
